How not to kill your bearings, Condition Based Lubrication

Paul Klimuc, Channel Manager, SDT

Description

How not to kill your bearings, Condition Based Lubrication.
Most people do not understand the value of correctly lubricating their rotating equipment. I have heard it said that regarding grease guns and bearings, that “if five pumps is good, then ten pumps must be better”.   Nothing could be further from the truth.
Lubricants are designed to reduce friction but under lubrication or over lubrication can cause major issues with bearings and can also cause ancillary issues in your machine train.
This session will give a historical life and death lubrication event and explain the basics of how ultrasound can assist you in to HEAR MORE from your rotating equipment, allowing it to inform you how to change your lubrication program form time based to condition based.
