PMWS3: Hands On Workshop: Connecting the CBM Program Dots

Frederic Baudart, Lead Product Application Specialist, Fluke Corporation John Bernet, Application Specialist, Fluke Corporation

Description

When starting a CBM program, one of the key challenges is ensuring your people, systems, and data are all bridged together. Fluke calls this concept “Connected Reliability” and it is a critical component in a successful condition-based maintenance program. When one of the three pillars is left unattended, the rest is doomed to fail.

One of the first places to start is a Connected Reliability Assessment. These surveys not only examine where a company is now but also helps organizations prepare and plan for deploying a CBM program. Some questions to ask include:

Are your people knowledgeable about the processes and technology? And did you provide training opportunities for CBM principles and techniques?

Do you understand where your maintenance program is currently? And do you know the desired outcome of CBM implementation?

What does the path to implementation look like for your organization? And what are the roadblocks?

We will show you how you can implement a CBM program. By looking at where people and processes are prior to implementing digitization, organizations can better understand what steps they need to take

Takeaways

1) Ensure that people, processes, and systems are ready to achieve digitization.
2) Ways to ensure that your systems speak to each other so that data is available across platforms.
3) While the barriers to adopting a CBM program are very real, the challenges shouldn’t outweigh the benefits.
