Description
There is a lot of hype at the moment about artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and the dream of Industry 4.0. Many organizations are pinning their hopes on improving operational performance by implementing AI/ML assisted predictive maintenance (PdM).
But is this a realistic approach? Is this the best approach?
In this presentation, the author will explain the pros and cons of the AI/PdM approach and outline a more traditional but highly structured approach to improving the reliability of equipment from the ground up: developing the business case, gaining management support, transforming the culture, eliminating the root causes of failure, and utilizing condition monitoring to see what’s coming.
