This presentation will demonstrate the ability of alternate signal processing techniques to visualize gear defects that may – and often do – remain undetected with traditional vibration analysis. Among other examples, the case study will include data unmistakably showing a bearing defect on a gearbox at a major global chemical manufacturer, while the defect remains hidden with traditional vibration monitoring.
