Description
Sustainability has become a top objective for many organizations with many setting ambitious targets for becoming NCZ (Net Carbon Zero), however few have clear plans on how these ambitions will be achieved.
In this presentation we will look at the benefits of having an integrated Reliability and Sustainability strategy, in particular we will discuss:
1. What is a Strategy?
-We will explore the differences between an Asset Management Strategy, an Asset Management Policy and Asset Management Plans. –We will discuss the differences between Strategic, Tactical and Operational activities
2. What is Reliability?
-When people hear the word Reliability they usually think that this only applies to equipment assets or machinery.
-We will look at how Reliability can be applied holistically to business processes.
3. How Reliability supports Sustainability
-Introducing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) we will explore how reliability best practices support them
4. The role of the Reliability Engineer
-What are the duties of a Reliability Engineer and how the role of the Reliability Engineer is different to the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Manager
5. Use of Technology
-It is estimated that Covid advanced the use of remote sensors and the interconnectability of systems by 7 years. Improved functionality and reduced costs of remote sensors means that this technology is now cost effect where it was not just a few years ago. -We will look at what sensors are available and how they can be used as part of an integrated approach to improving reliability and sustainability.
6. Developing the Strategy
-We will introduce a step by step process for developing a strategy using the ISO 55001 and IAM frameworks
